If the weather holds out long enough, the Taste of London festival in Regent’s Park (June 17th-20th) should be an amazing event. I was lucky enough to be invited along to a mammoth 9-course preview lunch a few weeks back that took in three of the festival’s showcase restaurants: Bentley’s, Yauatcha and Dehesa (my favourite dish was the courgette flowers stuffed with goats cheese and drizzled with honey at Dehesa. Top class all the way.
There’s an interesting little competition that’s landed in the Fluid London inbox today that concerns the upcoming festival. Apparently, Taste of London - working with Oddono’s Gelati Italiani - has its sights set on discovering a brand new flavour of ice cream in time for the four day event.
Anyone with a sweet tooth and some creative juices can take part, and the prize for the winning flavour is VIP tickets to the event where you’ll get the chance to see your own ice-cream served up alongside signature dishes from the likes of Giorgio Locatelli, Michel Roux Jr and Francesco Mazzei.
To get involved visit www.tastefestivals.com/london/ice-cream where you can submit your idea along with a suitable name and see your very own limited edition brand of ice cream served at Taste of London this summer. Competition will close on Monday 7th June.
