Spain V Switzerland: The Ultimate World Cup Pub (bar & restaurant) Crawl

By Greg Hall

Spain 0 Switzerland 1

It was definitely siesta time at Notting Hill’s Garden Bar and Grill. In this spacious, chilled and casual oak laden haven, the Swiss shocked Spain with a one nil victory. It may have been ignominious for the Iberians, but in West London, the game was enjoyed in comfort and style.

For a day venue it was a delight and a worthy place to watch the World Cup in the summer sun. Outdoor viewing was enhanced by a big screen so sizeable it could sail a yacht.

Hand on heart, honestly there are no complaints. Lovely stuff. It was hardly high brow, but kicking back with pints of Becks and chowing down on a fine Chicken wrap with chips and salad was a fine feast for any footy fan.

Those with more sophisticated sensibilities than soccer (note- remember its real name is football!) should probably steer clear. But it will be their loss. This is a brilliant bar to behold ‘the beautiful game.’
